# Take day labourers when people are missing

> In Weplanify, when the split is short of people, take day labourers: positions to fill, people added or called back, arrival on site, then the day validated.

In Weplanify, day labourers are people paid per presence, without an employee record. The word follows your sector (day labourers, extras, relief workers…) and is changed in **Settings → Time and attendance → Time clock**, block **People paid per presence**. Example: on Saturday, 4 labourers are missing at Chantier Résidence Horizon.

## Steps

1. At step 2 of the generation, the [split](https://weplanify.io/docs/planning.generation.besoins?lang=en) shows the **missing** row. Below the table, click **Take 4 day labourers**.
2. Choose: **Leave 4 positions to fill**, the site manager recording people as they arrive; **Add people now**, one line per person (name, phone, job, rate); **Call back day labourers who already came**; or **Share the ad on WhatsApp**.
3. On the day, the site manager [records the arrivals](https://weplanify.io/docs/journaliers.enregistrer-une-arrivee?lang=en): each arrival takes an open post.
4. In the evening, [validate the day](https://weplanify.io/docs/journaliers.valider-une-journee?lang=en): the window shows the differences with the plan.

## Good to know

- Posts nobody takes stay open: the first day labourer recorded on arrival takes them. They also show on the [Positions to fill](https://weplanify.io/docs/planning.creneau-ouvert?lang=en) row of the planning, where an employee can take one.
- Calling back shows those who already came to a site of the company, with their last visit and rate.
- Everyone is paid per presence: a validated presence times the agreed rate. **Paid** by the day, by the session or by the hour only changes how the rate is shown. Next: [pay](https://weplanify.io/docs/journaliers.payer?lang=en).
