How absence days are counted
In Weplanify, the number of days of an absence depends on its type: calendar days for paid or unpaid absence, working days for leave taken from the balance.
In Weplanify, the number of days depends on the absence type. Each absence's panel shows the days counted and the method used.
By type
- Paid and Unpaid: days are counted from the first to the last day included, in the country's payroll unit (calendar days, weekend included, or planned days).
- Deducted from leave: days are counted as working days (Monday → Saturday or Monday → Friday), depending on the Accrual and counting setting; public holidays are not counted.
Example
Annual leave from Tuesday to the following Monday is 6 days counting Monday to Saturday, 5 counting Monday to Friday.
Good to know
- A half day counts in proportion to the employee's hours; from 80% of the day, it counts as a full day.
- If the period only holds a public holiday, a weekend or a rest day, the number can be 0.
- The balance after the absence shows when you create it.
